What's Going On In 4C

Here are some of the things that happened in our classroom this week:

Monday: We worked on our maps of Mexico and we also made passports and posted our pictures in them. 

Tuesday: We let go the toad into the pond. 

Thursday: We had our first math test and we had Open House. In reading we are almost done with Stone Fox. 

Friday: We went to the Clark from nine to two- thirty. 

A Day In 4C

 Our Class Hike

On Thursday we went on a hike up Monument Mountain. We walked on the Indian Monument Trail. On the way up it got very rocky and it was hard climbing up. But …it was fun.  The top of the mountain was very, very high and you can see all of the schools in the b.h.r.s.d - and we could see Muddy brook from the top! We could see miles from the top and it was a beautiful view. When we were hiking down we fond class pets: a toad and 6 salamanders. We are observing them for a few days and then are setting them free.

Studying The U.S.A

This week we have been studying immigration.We learned a lot about the U.S.A and how the people came here for freedom war and work. Our teacher gave  us an assignment she gave us a passport and we had to fill it out some of us got rejected and we talked about how it felt getting rejected and not getting rejected some people who got rejected said they didn't like it and the people who did make it said they liked it. Who ever didn't make it the teacher said they had to stay in for recess. But she was just kidding so we didn't have to stay in. Then in a couple weeks, we wrote letters about us pretending to be a immigration and us traveling to Ellis Island and if you passed you can go to new york. If you didn't pass you have to go back home. But most people wrote about making it to Ellis island. it took a really long time but it was so worth it after we got to stamp them with tea bags it made them look really old and like it has been through a lot. We learned a lot about the U.S.A.
