On May 17 all the 4th graders went on an awesome field trip

to the Connecticut Science Center! We saw buzz aldrins space suit!!! 

 We saw  a 2 million year old rock from mars, as you can see we got to

go in a tube that felt like a tornado, we saw a robotic dinosaur, also

we saw turtles, a levitating train, a lot of stuff about sight and

sound, and we went in an elevator that went really fast. 

We learned stuff about the human body. We had a lab with a guy

named Mr. Mark who taught us about electromagnetism. It was very

interesting. You have to go to the CT science center!! It's a way to

learn a lot of interesting stuff and you can have fun at the same time.

Job time in 4C

 

March 4 2013 

Today we learned about fractions.

We learned that fractions can be different no matter big or small. Today we had our pre-assessment for fractions.

March 6 2013 

We had Michael Walsh’s dad came to our class room and read us a book. Michael’s dad is a police officer.   

March, 7 2013 

Ms. Cosel's dad came and showed us his wonderful adventure. Today we had to take an MCAS practice test because we start MCAS on the 19 of March. TODAY THE Chorus PEPOLE WENT TO THE HIGH SCHOOL to rehearse for our concert tonight. We are so excited for it. Today we finished our fraction cards.

Abby Z. won the citizenship award!

Today we found out that we have to do a presentation on our nonfiction books.  Today we practiced our MCAS because we have our test on Tuesday. Today we listened to our classmates’ personal narratives. All of our classmates used descriptive writing and words. Today in gym we ran around cones and mats for a warm up. Almost all of the kids got very, very, very, tired.

Today at all school Abby Z. won the citizenship award and Abby Wade won the Read-A-Thon raffle.  

Today we graded MCAS writing. The time flew by so fast.

We can’t believe that MCAS is tomorrow. Some of us are nervous some aren’t. But at the same time some are.

Yesterday Ms.Cosel informed us that the state has cancelled MCAS due to the weather.  Today we made index cards to prepare for our presentation for Friday. We cant wait MCAS is in five days! “ Ya ” We are   so exited that our pretentious is on Friday. 

Today we found out who won the essay contest. There were four people. Congratulations to Paige, Abby Wade, Abbyz, and Lucie!

This Week In 4C

In the week of 2-25-13, Abby.Z and Michael are Human Highlighter, again. On Wednesday 2-27-13 Mary Pope Osborne the author of the Magic Tree House series is came to our school. Tuesday, 2-26 -13 we are finished up our little Canada books. On Thursday 2-28-13, we went to the High School for their band performance. Wednesday 2-25-13 is the first day of the Read-A-Thon. Instead of counting the number of minutes we read, we’re counting the number or pages we read. So far our class has read 1,225 pages on the first day. On the second day, Thursday 2-28-13, we read 1035 pages!

 

         Michael and Abby.Z are Human Highlighter these 2 weeks. Last Wednesday we had a test on the 10 provinces and the 3 territories in Canada. This Wednesday we have a math test on geometry. Speaking of geometry, in it we have been learning about area and perimeter. In our Canada studies we are learning about Canada’s history. In a packet we got, we have to draw a little a picture along with what we wrote. We all finished our packets and now were going to act out a play on Canada’s history last Friday and we might not have school. Our math test is on Friday so if we have no school that day it will be postponed next Wednesday. We had a half day this Friday. Our Valentines Day party will be next Thursday and it will be  Canadian themed. Some parents will bring in Canadian themed snacks. Valentines Day is the day of the Winter Fest. The three choices are tubing, snowboarding and skiing.

The Last Two Weeks Of January In 4C

Two weeks ago we began our study of Canada. We made maps for our study of Canada. We had indoor recesses.  We began lines of symmetry in math. At the end of the week we finished our final drafts. 

Last week we started learning about area and perimeter, we had Spanish and we got to do free reading. We used geo boards in math and we finished our reading group books. We wrote essays about our reading group books.
