Michael and Abby.Z are Human Highlighter these 2 weeks. Last Wednesday we had a test on the 10 provinces and the 3 territories in Canada. This Wednesday we have a math test on geometry. Speaking of geometry, in it we have been learning about area and perimeter. In our Canada studies we are learning about Canada’s history. In a packet we got, we have to draw a little a picture along with what we wrote. We all finished our packets and now were going to act out a play on Canada’s history last Friday and we might not have school. Our math test is on Friday so if we have no school that day it will be postponed next Wednesday. We had a half day this Friday. Our Valentines Day party will be next Thursday and it will be  Canadian themed. Some parents will bring in Canadian themed snacks. Valentines Day is the day of the Winter Fest. The three choices are tubing, snowboarding and skiing.

The Last Two Weeks Of January In 4C

Two weeks ago we began our study of Canada. We made maps for our study of Canada. We had indoor recesses.  We began lines of symmetry in math. At the end of the week we finished our final drafts. 

Last week we started learning about area and perimeter, we had Spanish and we got to do free reading. We used geo boards in math and we finished our reading group books. We wrote essays about our reading group books.

This week in science, we started working on our water portfolio’s. We finished our water portfolios this week. We included most of the stuff from our science folders.

Students chose an experiment to repeat from our studies or their own idea related to one of our experiments or studies to try this week. There were some great and creative ideas!

The Last Two Weeks In 4C!

Last week in math we learned how to use a protractor with an instructional video to help us. We learned how to measure angles with it too. We also played guess my rule. We had all school & found out our math groups for next week.               

         This week we found out our reading group books. One of them is the Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe. We continued to read our reading group books, the rest of them are: The Fledgling, Dear Mr. Henshaw, and The Lemonade Wars. This week we went to see the 1st grade and kindergarten practice concert.

This week we presented our power points. It was really fun presenting our power point. It was really fun watching everyone present their power points. We also had to make mental topics that interested us when we saw the other group’s presentations.  Wednesday was the 3rd and 4th grade dress rehearsal so we couldn’t do social studies. Thursday in social studies we did nothing at all because we had our concert today at 1:00 P.M. Today we didn’t do social studies!!!!! Because we watched the Polar Express. We had candy canes and cookies. Sam Jaffe got an extra candy cane because Sam Schroeder gave it to Sam Jaffe

Social Studies

Social studies this year has been great so far. First we learned about Mexico which was so much fun. This week we started power point for the Native Tribes. Sam’s group was made of three people Sam J, Justin H, and Michael W. Savannah’s group was made of Savannah G, Ashley W, and Abby W. Today we kept on working on our power point for the native tribes. The native tribe team challenge is really fun. Today in social studies my team finished our power point for our native tribes. All we have to do is put some more pictures in then we’re done! I’m so happy but soon we have to stand in front of the whole class to present our power point.
